Symposium on Geometry Processing 2013

The Symposium on Geometry Processing (SGP) 2013, a Eurographics symposium in cooperation with ACM Siggraph, will be held from July 3 to 5 in Genova, Italy, organized by the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Information Technology of the CNR.. This marks the beginning of the second decade of SGP.

The goal of the meeting is to present and discuss new research ideas and results in geometry processing. This research field is geared towards the creation of mathematical foundations and practical algorithms for the processing of complex geometric data sets, ranging from acquisition and editing all the way to animation, transmission and display. As such it draws on many disciplines spanning pure and applied mathematics, computer science, and engineering.

We are seeking high quality, original research contributions for presentation at the symposium and publication in the proceedings, which will appear as an issue of the Computer Graphics Forum, the International Journal of the EUROGRAPHICS Association.

In addition to regular papers presented at SGP, we will continue with the Software Award, sponsored by the GeometryFactory, and the graduate school, prior to the conference:

  • Software Awards: Award nominations (including self-nominations) are to be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. SUBMISSION DEADLINE: May 5th
  • Graduate School: International experts on chosen topics of geometry processing will offer a series of tutorials and seminars prior to the SGP conference. Graduate students are highly encouraged to attend.

NEW: the call for submissions for Lab and Project presentations is now open: deadline May 23rd, 2013

This year, the co-located event Computational Electrostatics for Biological Applications, CEBA'13 will give interested researchers the opportunity to attend state-of-art presentations on  theoretical, numerical and modeling aspects of the Poisson-Boltzmann equation and its applications to Molecular Biology.
